Washington, D.C. (November 16, 2011) – Roland Parrish, Chair & CEO of the National Black McDonald’s Operators Association (NBMOA) addresses attendees at the 4th Annual Congressional Minority Business Awards at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, D.C., on November 16, 2011. Members of NBMOA were the recipients of the “Economic Development Award,” which Mr. Parrish accepted on the organization’s behalf. Presented by U.S. Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson, she credited Parrish and the NBMOA with “injecting more than $3.2 billion in our economy and creating more than 70,000 jobs along with a host of community programs and educational assistance throughout the nation.”

(November 16, 2011) – U.S. Congresswoman Laura Richardson (D-CA) joins National Black McDonald’s Operators Association Chair & CEO Roland Parrish (Left) and McDonald’s Owner/Operator Leroy G. Walker, Jr. during the 4th Annual Congressional Minority Business Awards gala dinner held in Washington, D.C., at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The National Black McDonald’s Operators Association was among a select group of business leaders recognized for their commitment to economic development in minority communities. Mr. Parrish accepted the Economic Development award on the organization’s behalf. Currently McDonald’s USA purchases goods and services worth more than $5 billion annually from minority and women owned businesses.

Parrish and the NBMOA were credited with “injecting more than $3.2 billion into our economy and creating more than 70,000 jobs along with a host of community programs and educational assistance throughout the nation.” More than 70 percent of McDonald’s U.S. workforce is comprised of women and people of color and more than 25 percent of its leadership team are women and people of color.
